Introductory Course

The Site runs an Introduction to Psychoanalysis course, a year-long programme intended to provoke a way of thinking psychoanalysis differently. 

Applications are now open for the 2026/7 Introductory Course to Psychoanalysis. The course consists of weekly seminars and an experiential group on Thursday evenings at Westminster Quakers Meeting House in Covent Garden from 6.30 to 9.15pm, starting in October 2026 and running until June 2027.

If you are interested in training as a psychoanalyst this would be a good place to start, although completion does not guarantee acceptance to The Site training. The fee is currently £1,200, payable when your application is accepted.

Applications will close at midday on Monday 24th August and we aim to let people know by Monday 31st August at the latest whether they have a place on the course.

While we hope to weigh candidates as fairly as possible, the course leaders’ decision is final.

– Briefly outline why you want to do this course, including any relevant details which might help you contribute to an interesting group experience for everyone (no more than 300 words).
– One might argue that question selects for people with certain skills not essential to psychoanalytic enquiry, for example those resulting from a traditional educational background. Is there any relevant information you’d like us to know about you which got in the way of you answering the first question as well as you wanted?

It is the responsibility of any student enrolled on any course run by The Site to check with the organisation about any Risk Assessments provided by The Site and/or any venues used by The Site.
