Attention Seeking with Adam Phillips

The SITE for Contemporary Psychoanalysis presents:

ADAM PHILLIPS in conversation with James Mann

Wednesday 18th September 2019

19:00 – 21:30

October Gallery, 24 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AL

Adam Phillips, psychoanalyst, member of The Site, author of many books, including Going Sane and Missing Out will be in conversation with psychoanalyst and Site member James Mann to discuss his new book Attention Seeking.

‘Everything depends on what if anything, we find interesting: on what we are encouraged and educated to find interesting and what we find ourselves being interested in despite ourselves. There is our official curiosity and our unofficial curiosity (and psychoanalysis is a story about the relationship between the two)…’

Based on three connected talks on the subject of attention, this pocket-sized book from Adam Phillips is a fascinating and memorable introduction to the idea and the uses of our attention.

Doors open at 7pm with a saxophone performance and the event starts at 7.30pm. Booking early is advisable as tickets are limited and this event is likely to sell out.

Tickets cost £15 (£12 Early Bird and Site trainees) The ticket price includes a glass of wine – book now on Eventbrite:
